Personal small blogs vs big tech-oligarchy owned platforms
24 May 2025
I’ve came across this article Small (web) is beautiful by Fred Rocha while scrolling through Reddit, which contradicts my blog title because well, reddit ain’t small! But at least it’s not filled with AI generated content and mediocre crowd.
I felt in love with this article for speaking my mind, I’ve personally been moving away from tech-oligarchy owned platforms and I urge everyone to!
Big tech will silence your opinions when it goes against their cash flow, we all know by now what “shadow ban” really is especially if you get political. They’re using your data and using you personally to train their algos/models.
In times of artificial content and deep fake apps, it’s time to make big tech tremble. It’s time to go back to forums and small websites where authors really care about sharing knowledge. Tech bros, AI hyped personnel and their fanboys/fangirls have their platforms here with button clicks to modify their posts with AI and feed the machine more and more.
I’ve started to write my own ideas/posts into my website, moving the few medium articles I have to my own markdown blog, and writing new ones in the latter. And you should too, if you’re bothered being watched all the time and by being effortlessly silenced.
Access to information and freedom of speech is a basic human right that we need to fight for. Hence I started to write more on this blog, and less on any other platform where opinions are not freely expressed and an account ban is all it takes to silence the oppressed who might have spent years and put too much efforts to get their accounts bigger and be able to have a channel to spread their suffering.
I am no longer looking for views or likes and in fact, I am trying to stay away from all that artificial dopamine hits.
